Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Certified Clinical Supervisor

Stephanie Lamancusa is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), and Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) with more than a decade of experience in mental health counseling, addiction treatment, trauma-informed care, and clinical leadership. Throughout her career, Stephanie has worked with individuals, couples, and families across a variety of therapeutic settings, bringing a compassionate, insightful, and individualized approach to helping clients navigate emotional challenges, relationship difficulties, trauma, and substance use concerns.

Stephanie earned her Master of Social Work from Rutgers University, where she also completed the Addiction Counselor Training Certificate Program. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Rutgers University. Her educational background and extensive clinical experience provide her with a comprehensive understanding of human behavior, emotional well-being, addiction, and the influence of early life experiences on psychological development and relationships.

Stephanie specializes in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, a therapeutic approach that explores the deeper emotional experiences, unconscious processes, and relationship patterns that may influence an individual’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. She helps clients develop greater insight into how childhood experiences, unresolved trauma, attachment patterns, and past relationships may continue to shape their present lives. Through this process, Stephanie supports clients in increasing self-awareness, understanding recurring emotional and relational patterns, and working toward meaningful personal growth.

In addition to her psychoanalytic work, Stephanie has extensive experience providing therapy to individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, addiction, and relationship or family difficulties. Her clinical background includes individual, couples, and family counseling, as well as experience utilizing evidence-based and holistic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).

Stephanie also brings significant experience in substance use treatment and recovery-focused care, including outpatient services, medication-assisted treatment programs, and community-based behavioral health initiatives. She has worked with individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, providing comprehensive assessments, individualized treatment planning, relapse prevention support, and therapeutic interventions designed to promote long-term recovery and emotional stability.

Stephanie approaches therapy from a compassionate, collaborative, and trauma-informed perspective. She recognizes that emotional struggles are often influenced by an individual’s personal history, relationships, environment, and life experiences. She strives to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients can explore difficult emotions, gain insight into longstanding patterns, strengthen coping strategies, and develop healthier relationships with themselves and others.

In addition to her direct clinical work, Stephanie has held numerous leadership positions, including Executive Director, Clinical Director, and Clinical Supervisor within behavioral health and addiction treatment organizations. She has overseen multidisciplinary treatment teams, developed clinical programs, expanded access to addiction treatment, and provided professional supervision to counselors pursuing licensure. Her leadership experience reflects her commitment to ethical, effective, and individualized mental health care.

Stephanie has been a psychotherapist with Monarch Counseling Center since December 2023, where she provides individual psychoanalytic therapy to adults. Drawing upon her extensive background in mental health, addiction treatment, trauma-informed care, and psychoanalytic theory, Stephanie is dedicated to helping clients explore the deeper roots of their emotional experiences, develop greater self-understanding, strengthen relationships, and achieve meaningful and lasting personal growth.
