Licensed Social Worker
Diane Hooper is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with more than 10 years of clinical experience providing compassionate and individualized therapy to adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families. Throughout her career, Diane has supported clients navigating a wide range of emotional and behavioral health concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, anger, life transitions, and other complex life experiences.
Diane earned her Master of Social Work with a concentration in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service, where she was recognized as a member of both the Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Alpha Honor Societies. She also holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance with a minor in Social Policy and Urban Affairs from New York University’s Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Economics from Smith College. Her diverse educational and professional background contributes to her thoughtful, well-rounded approach to understanding the many factors that can influence an individual’s emotional well-being and life experiences.
Throughout her clinical career, Diane has worked extensively with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, LGBTQ+ concerns, domestic violence, relationship difficulties, self-esteem challenges, anger, suicidal ideation, and significant life transitions. She has experience providing individual, couples, and family therapy across in-person, virtual, and school-based settings and has worked with clients ranging from children and adolescents to adults in their 90s.
Diane utilizes an integrative and client-centered approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based and clinically informed modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, Family Systems Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and relaxation techniques. She incorporates strengths-based and trauma-informed principles into her work and tailors treatment to the unique needs, experiences, and goals of each client.
Central to Diane’s therapeutic approach is her ability to develop trusting and supportive relationships with the individuals and families she serves. She strives to create a warm, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable discussing difficult experiences, exploring patterns in their thoughts and relationships, and developing healthier ways of coping with life’s challenges. Diane believes in empowering clients to recognize their strengths, build resilience, and create meaningful and sustainable changes in their lives.
Diane also brings extensive experience in clinical assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and collaborative care. Throughout her career, she has worked alongside psychiatrists, case managers, and community-based providers to help ensure clients receive comprehensive and coordinated support. Her experience conducting risk assessments and suicide screenings has further strengthened her ability to support individuals experiencing periods of significant emotional distress or crisis.
Diane is a clinician at Monarch Counseling Center, where she provides therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and families. She is passionate about helping clients feel heard, understood, and supported while providing a therapeutic environment that encourages healing, self-discovery, resilience, and personal growth.
