Alyssa Jackler, MSW, LSW is a dedicated and compassionate social work professional currently pursuing her Master of Social Work through the Advanced Standing Program at Ramapo College of New Jersey. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Ramapo College with a 3.9 GPA and received recognition for her academic excellence and leadership, including Dean’s List honors every semester and the Outstanding Leadership By a Junior Award.
Alyssa is passionate about mental health advocacy, community-building, inclusivity, and providing empathetic, client-centered support. Her clinical experience includes working with individuals navigating grief, identity development, emotional challenges, and life transitions. She values creating safe and affirming environments where individuals feel heard, supported, and empowered.
As a Clinical Social Work Intern at Oradell Animal Hospital, Alyssa provides crisis counseling and therapeutic support to veterinary staff members as well as clients coping with the loss of a pet. She also organizes and facilitates support groups, staff trainings, and community events while maintaining clinical documentation including biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Previously, Alyssa completed a clinical internship at Equality Mental Health, where she provided therapeutic services to individuals and groups, assisted with psychotherapy groups and mental health presentations, and helped coordinate events focused on LGBTQ+ topics and community education. She also contributed to outreach initiatives through social media management, press releases, and resource development.
Alyssa’s advocacy work extends beyond clinical settings. During her internship with the Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Compliance at Ramapo College, she organized educational programming focused on LGBTQIA+ inclusion and bias awareness, participated in campus-wide diversity initiatives, and collaborated on efforts to improve accessibility and inclusivity within student services.
In addition to her clinical and advocacy experience, Alyssa has developed strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills through various professional roles and extracurricular involvement. Her experience managing teams, coordinating events, training staff, and building meaningful relationships with clients and colleagues has strengthened her ability to work collaboratively and adaptively across diverse environments.
Known for her empathetic and thoughtful approach, Alyssa is committed to ongoing personal and professional growth while helping individuals and communities foster resilience, connection, and emotional well-being.
